DESIGNING A FUN AND TECH SAVVY PRODUCT TO ALLEVIATE THE LITTLE STRESSES OF EVERYDAY LIFE.
Squishi is a smart keyfinder app used to track and recover misplaced or lost key sets by using your mobile phone. Modern life requires most urban dwellings, cars and offices to be generally accessed via a key. The stress, cost and inconvenience of losing one's keys is high. Key finders are a practical way of alleviating these effects.
The Challenge
The challenge with most keyfinder technology is that it relies purely on a sound alarm to find your lost keys. So depending on your range to your lost items, the farther you are from your keys, the fainter that alarm sounds, the harder it will be to track down where you left that misplaced valuable.
The Outcome
Our task was to work with a group of tech gurus to design the brand, packaging and interface for the Squishi app keyring, bearing in mind the key features of the app - that Squishi not only sounded the alarm, gave you a wider geo-range and included a smart geolocater on your phone so that if you could not hear the alarm you could still track your keys visually. This concept product was transformed into a fun, engaging and unobtrusive product for both kids and adults.
